Took the ride from the other side up to see what this spot was all about. I wish I lived closer.... The vibe is super chill. The entire operation appears to be run with a real love for what they do. They had some unique snacks and drinks available to buy in addition to what they make onsite. We got 2 sandwiches and a side of Mac Salad. Bear Mountain Hot Roast Beef Sandwich for $15.00 and the Das Hans (Ham)mer Sandiwch for $14.50. Both were very good. The Bear Mountain had a really nice horseradish kick. And the Hammer was a really yummy ham sandwich. Both were Wedge/Hero sized and definitely could feed 2 especially along with the side of Mac Salad. The ONLY thing I don't love is there's no place to sit and eat. So we couldn't take advantage of getting one of their tempting beers. There was a small standing counter area but it was taken so we ate in the car, which is fine.... But less than ideal. I will definitely be back and will absolutely recommend Bennys.

Great service! Delightful young lady taking the orders. Sandwich was awesome combined with the soup. They just got a new regular customer.

Have now tried all but two sandwiches on the every day menu and one special of the week. Benny's continues to impress with every bite. I especially like their recipes that combine savory, with sweet, as well as adding in a combo of creamy and crunch. Need at least one sandwich a week minimum from these guys. Keep doing what you do!

You know you found something good when you think about it the best day. That's my feeling about the chili crisp turkey sandwich. Ah- maz-ing. Get it. You won't be disappointed with fresh tender turkey between crispy on the outside lightly toasted bread and seasoned with that chili crisp mayo , pickled onions and arugula. It's a complimenting combo of sweet and savory with just the right of heat from the chili crisp. If you don't know what chili crisp is : it's not meat chili that some may think. It's a Szechuan condiment made with ground peppers , oil and Szechuan peppercorns and other spices. My nephew had the bacon grilled cheese and he devoured it. We also had the mac salad. It tastes like homemade style and you should try it. For 3.50 you get enough for 2 sides easily. The place has no seating but it's a fun place to just look around at the plethora of chips, beers and soft drinks while your food is being made. The folks there are super cool. There's a school park across the street with picnic benches.

Bennys ALWAYS delivers. Every sandwich is good. The best and friendliest staff. Greet you by name. Great interior. I go every time I'm in town.

I am not much of a sandwich person, but when I was reading about Benny's Brown Bag on a Westchester foodie forum recently, where one fellow waxed poetically about their Turkey and cheese, I paused. My husband's favorite sandwich is turkey and cheese. Benny's makes an amazingly delicious 'out of this world' one named 'Chili Crisp Turkey'. We happened to be up in the Peekskill area near Bear Mountain and decided to stop by to pick up lunch. Well, the smile on my husband's face said it all! After a bite he exclaimed - "Sweetie, Wow! This is the best turkey sandwich I have ever tasted" !! Delicious! Tofu sandwich was excellent, roast beef was pink when I always expect red for NY but still so flavorful... chimi was delicious. Lady was very friendly and nice. I live kinda far and just got sandwiches for the bear mountain hike, but I may have to use my new buy 9 get 1 free card because it was yummy.

Food: 10/10 The best sandwich I've ever had is at Benny's Brown Bag. I took a hiking trip to Peekskill from Brooklyn and lucked out finding this gem! Every sandwich is unique, and the menu stays interesting with exciting specials and scrumptious homemade sauces. Follow them on Instagram! My favorite is the veggie stack. It's loaded up and massive like all of their sandwiches, packed with flavor, and topped with the perfect amount of salted cucumber and pickled cabbage. I've taken the Metro North from NYC just to come back here, and the food is consistently well-prepared and tasty. I've never had to wait long, and I love that they have vegan and vegetarian options that are creative and super flavorful. Also the best macaroni salad I've ever had. Everything is very reasonably priced, if not underpriced. They also have super affordable items for kids and students, too. Service: 10/10 The environment is welcoming, and everyone working there is friendly and kind. They constantly promote other local businesses and restaurants, and you can tell they're beloved by the community. Ambiance: 10/10 The vibes are immaculate -- sense of humor, impeccable taste and style, skate videos on vintage tvs, millenial-approved music, and a perfectly-curated selection of fun and local goods for sale. Perfect place to buy craft beers, gifts for foodies, fresh juices and ice cream, and artisan treats. Hands down 10/10 THE BEST in all of Peekskill and Westchester.

Delicious sandwiches, super friendly service. We grabbed a couple of sandwiches to take on a picnic. We had a Chili Crisp Turkey and a Green Goddess Chicken Salad BLT. They're both good-sized sandwiches on a large ciabatta roll. We split the 2 samdwiches between 3 people and had plenty of food. I really liked to chili crisp mayo on the turkey sandwich and the Green Goddess is my daughter's fav. Everybody who works there is really nice. Definitely our go-to sandwich shop in Peekskill.

Benny's Brown Bag seriously brings the best to every sandwich made. They are warm welcoming people who seemingly love what they do. Our first visit was this past Sunday(father's day 2024) and was recommended 2 different sandwiches by the staff, Chimi Ya and Thai fried chicken and both delivered great flavors and texture. Got a few homemade cookies OTH that were crispy and sweet. Upon entering the staff was all laughing at us which was odd at first however once I realized they were actually laughing at my father's day shirt which read... "Proud Father of a few dumbass kids"... Now I'm a customer for life... Thank you Benny's!!!!
